I completely agree. I would just fear that casual gamers wouldn't understand and would think of a crappy code/performance. Thus, I completely second your comment that it should be able to be deactivated.

A ball stutter would totally ruin the illusion for me and would remind me I am not playing a real table. Also you can't compensate for the flipper so a press would still take a moment to register on the flipper the screen. Having said that if people want it and it is configurable then it wouldn't matter. What we really need is a monitor lag database so people can get a good monitor to start with.

I'm the odd-duck as usual, I've never really noticed display lag, except on one really bad LCD monitor bought in early 2004... and even then I got used to it fairly quickly, playing Quake 3 and UT2004 on it was still very much doable.

I'm surprised to hear so much talk about it; I expected that displays would've improved significantly in this area by now, since the technology is not new anymore.

Do please allow the option to be toggled on and off though, because I would find the ball jumping around to be very annoying, like playing on a laggy network back in the 90's. Unless of course I wouldn't notice that either, in which case it wouldn't matter.

Worry not. If we do find time to implement a feature like this, it would be optional.
