Sound Problems with BRUSA

Is there an easy way to fix the sound issues (somewhat like crackling and pounding sound effects) I have with BRUSA.

I'm a proud owner of Web, Timeshock and Journey retail boxes/games, but never purchased BRUSA back then. With the first Kickstarter projekt I was awarded with this game and would like to play it now a bit....before the new Timeshock! alpha/beta starts using up all my spare time.
But the sound issues make me go crazy and prevent my from checking this (from what I ready here) great game out.

was able to "fix" it by chaning the refresh rate of my display from 144Hz to 60Hz....
Just don't ask my why this has an influence on the sound of this game
