to get a sneak peak at the old view ingame add
<graphics_cabinet_mode_enabled>true</graphics_cabinet_mode_enabled>
to the config file
viewtopic.php?f=18&t=632

and to rotate screen, if not already vertical, add
<graphics_screen_rotation>2</graphics_screen_rotation>

Yeah! Just installed this sneak peak on my cabinet.
Hell, it really works and it looks awesome!!!

Look at the pics. Cabinet view is much better for virtual tables.

(It get's a bit too blurry to the upper side of the table, I think. But nevertheless: there's no option to play with orignial mode in the future! Cabinet view rulez. A dream comes true!)

So what we need next is DMD-support.
And... is there a chance to get LedWiz support some day?

Nice, in your cab it looks kinda natural. Is the screen lower at the back?
On my setup the screen has the same angle as the glass, so it looks not right.
But yes, this is the way to go for cabinets.

Yes, as you can see at the sides (mirror-borders) there's a higher gap between Screen and glass at the back. But I think it's just 3 cm or so....
As the simulated playfield back is also lower in the back I'm wondering that it doesn't look right at your cab.

Hell, a short while after I took These pics I tweaked something at the gfx-options... and since then the tables always crashes (normal + cab mod). Reinstalling the game in steam and killing the user-files doesn't help. *ARRRRG* Always get a error message while loading. But I don't think that cab-mode was the reason for the error.

Probably the max light size setting. Crashes on my cab too, you need a gfx card with more than 2 gig of memory

Yeah, it was not the light size, but it works again now. Phew.... :P

What to you think about the graphics? It seems a bit to blurry at the upper side at the moment. Pixels look a bit distorted upside.
At the apron and rules-paper it looks fine.

@ team: Will there be another rendered version later?

That sounds good! Thanks for the info.

But nevertheless: Playing with the current cab-view is the very best experience since 1997!
