Unfortunately, "The Web" was written before there was a good way for Windows games to read the keyboard at a low enough level to be able to tell the difference between the left and right modifier keys (SHIFT, CTRL etc), which is why we had the slightly strange default key mappings, compared to the DOS version.
Our hope is to do an Ultra version of The Web at some point, which would of course not have this limitation.
